Well there has been a lot going on with this Laudermilk household as of late and I have been neglecting my blogging duties. So let's recap. In the past month Kevin was home and left to go back to work, visited college friends, my brother got married, Matthew had his one year pictures done, we packed our stuff from three houses and moved back home to TN. Needless to say it has been a busy couple of week.
So my wonderfuly helpful and talented handyman brother Levi drove all night with Matthew, myself, a trailer he built just for this trip and three, that's right all three dogs from NY to TN. It was a long night and besides one minor hiccup we made it without stopping for the night. We arrived Saturday morning. After we unloaded the trailer we weaved our way through the the boxes to the first soft piece of furniture we could find and crashed. We caught up on sleep every chance we got. Matthew however didn't share the same concern.

Sunday we started the project of the Demi-decade. And by "we" I mean Levi. I guess you could say I am the project supervisor. No real labor, but I get the glory from a job well done. The flooring is a laminate wood floor made by Armstrong. It has a rustic look to it and is on the darker side. It does not snap together smoothly like the laminate I have seen put together before. This takes twice as long...that means it will look twice as nice. After two days of diligently working Levi is half-way through the project. Meanwhile Matthew and I have been playing. Outside and slowly unpacking.
Matthew has had some weird goings on lately. He flared up with large hard red spots mostly on the left side of his face. The Dr says they are hives, a reaction from his 1 yr vaccines. For the next month he gets zyrtec to help kick these hives out the door. After another talk with the Dr today I was told I could give benadryl three times a day if I preferred (so tempting). Matthew has a new schedule to go with his new house.
6-7am wake up call
8am breakfast
10am snack
12-1 lunch
3pm snack
5pm dinner
6:45 bath
7:15 story time
8pm zzzzzzzzzzz
He is not a big snacker so I can't always get him to eat. Now that he has his new kick butt highchair he enjoys sitting down to eat much more. Our bedtime routine is much stricter also. While in NY he would fall asleep then I would put him in bed. But now for the third night he has informed me of his
disapproval of this new bedtime ritual. The first and second night took 45 mins until a worn out little boy finally fell asleep. Today was a triumphant 30 minutes without hardly any fight. When I layed him down the very first time he didn't get up, only layed there listening to me attempt to sing to him. I am proud of him.
I have been working out the kinks with this new iPhone. I am learning how to mobile blog through email, I hope it works!
