When in Rome...

Matthew and I drove to Rome, NY to visit Tiffany and her son Keagan. It has been 5 months since we last saw them and Keagan is so big now! Keagan is 7.5 months old. He is scooting his butt around, army-crawling everywhere. He loved swinging and playing with his Mommy. He was smiling and giggling the whole time. Matthew had fun too, but he was much more relaxed while swinging. I think Matthew enjoyed playing in the dirt and walking in the grass the most. He had some freedom after being in the car for so long. We had a great time visiting Tiffany and Keagan, I hope we get to see them again soon!

Matthew and the mower

Matthew played with Grandpa's tractors this weekend. He had so much playing with the steering wheels and all the knobs and buttons. He especially likes the lawn tractor Grandpa is working on (he has to replace the engine). Matthew stands on the seat, grabs the wheel, and all the knobs. Sometimes he turns around in the seat and grabs the back and shakes the entire lawn mower. Smiling and giggling the whole time.

Spitting = fun

So today Matthew was drinking water out of his sippy cup when he started to stick his tongue out and plllllllllttttt like he usually does when he is trying to be funny. This would have been a usual day except he still had water in his mouth and spit it all over his Mamma. I couldn't help but laugh hysterically, as usual (thats right Tabi I still can't keep a straight face). And that is how Matthew learned how to spit today. So until his water was about gone he continued to take big gulps and spit again and again smiling so big all you could see was his gummy grin. I wish I had a video camera handy but unfortunately I didn't and Rory was busy drinking her bottle so I couldn't jump up to even get a picture.

Still very funny though.

Matthew learned how to spit today.

Matthew's day with Mema

Matthew spent last Sunday afternoon with Grandma Mary. He had an awesome day just look how happy he is in the pictures! Mema took him to the playground, to dinner with Aunt Millie, to the playground again and then for a walk in his stroller. You can see his new puppy friend Bailey. Bailey is a Pug-Jack-Russell mix that Aunt Millie just bought. She is only 7 weeks old and is itsy bitsy. But what she lacks for in size she makes up for in ferociousness. She grabs ahold of Matthew's shorts and pulls as hard as she can and shakes her little head. I tried to pick Matthew up and she came up with him attached to his shorts. What a little beast. Matthew is so used to her he just pushes her out of his way. So cute. Matthew had an awesome day Sunday, thanks for babsysitting Mema!

Caterpillar

Grandma found a caterpillar outside and brought it inside to show Matthew. He wanted to squish it of course. Any ideas what kind of caterpillar this is?

July 13th

Matthew and Bug spent a long time playing with Mega Blocks this morning. Bug would build and build and Matthew would tear it all down and they both loved it! Later Matthew sat on Bug's lap while they watched Baby Einstein's Old McDonald movie. We also made Daddy some chocolate chip cookies and packed those up to mail today. Matthew is excited to send Daddy his package.

July 8

This was our fun part of our day yesterday.

Matthew's first Blood

Last night Matthew was crawling and slipped on the wet floor. He face planted with his pacifier in his mouth splitting the middle of his lip slightly. He was only mad because I was holding him and he couldn't play with the vacuum. He couldn't care any less about hurting his lip and bleeding. I keep telling myself I need to get used to these things. So Matthew got over his bloody lip fast, took me a little longer but I got over it too. Then he had his evening bath and Aunt Sue put him in his backpack and got him to sleep. What a night.

Dadda

(Warning this video is super loud so you may want to turn your speakers down)

Matthew says Dadda all the time now. He loves looking at his Daddy book and he loves saying Dadda. He still said Mamma first though...I know I won't be his favorite for long. That is ok though. Daddy is due for some Father and Son time together.

4th of July Weekend

After about 12 pictures taken this is the only one with my eyes open. I tried in every picture to keep them open and inevitably failed each time. I had to force them open like this. Mary got a kick out of it I am sure. Stupid flash is like staring into the headlights of an oncoming bus!

I kept Matthew up late so I could take him to Forest Lake Campground and show him his first Fireworks. The big celebration for our special 4th of July weekend. This weekend means a lot to us. Matthew loved watching the fireworks and even though they were super loud he didn't even flinch. Instead he fell asleep. We had a good weekend.
